Lita Rossana Ford was born in the United Kingdom and was an American musician, singer and music writer. In the late 70s she was a guitarist in the hard rocking All-girl group The Runaways. Although the band did not have much success in the United States, they were hugely popular in other countries. This was especially true in Japan. Ford enjoyed a lengthy and successful career as a heavy-metal solo artist after the group split up in 1979. She took voice lessons and recorded her first solo album , 'Out for Blood' and 'Dancin' On the Edge. Both albums failed to have much success, and Ford just vanished from the rock world for several years. The smash-hit album "Lita" was made available by Ford in 1988. The track "Kiss Me Deadly" and the ballad "Close My Eyes forever" were big hits. Unfortunately her popularity was only temporary, and she was gone for a few years. Her release of Black in 1995 was followed by 15-year wait for 'Wicked Wonderland. Her latest album was released Time Capsule in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
